Australian Bushfire appeals in Second Life

Description: I am keeping a list of vendors and fundraising activities for the bushfires - and floods (if anyone is doing anything for the Queensland flooding, I'll add it to the same list). The blog posting with the list of Second Life fundraisers is at: http://tinyurl.com/aussieFundraiser I'll keep adding details to the blog regarding events and donations via sales or directly to an avatar. Please feel free to add notes about your own fundraising efforts to have them included them in the list. I've put a poster with links to RL news, donation centre and SL info at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Svavarsson/255/64/40 if you wish to help promote the efforts of others. The poster is simple and full perm so you can modify as you choose. Just right click and use your pie menu to take a copy. Dakota Buck and Autumn Hykova have organised fundraising and set up an avatar to take donations - the avatar is Victoria Farshore and all funds paid/donated to this avatar will be converted to Australian dollars and will go to the bushfires appeal run by the Australian Red Cross. Surreal Babii has also set up an avatar VicBushfireAppeal Fireguard and contacted the Red Cross. She also has a donation kiosk and we have a script that can be put in vendors on the day. If you are doing your own fundraising, you may wish to get in contact with Dakota Buck and Autumn Hykova OR Surreal Babii and set up payments for your event to go to one of these avatars rather than creating yet another one. This will give Second Lifers consistent and trusted avatars who they can directly pay to make donations. You can, of course, donate in RL dollars - these appeals have been set up for those who find it easier to make their donations in Linden Dollars.
