Description: château de Meursault Meursault est une appellation d'origine contrôlée du vignoble bourguignon. La commune de Meusault est située au pied de la Côte de Beaune. Le vin de Meursault est principalement du blanc (cépage chardonnay) même si une petite production de vin rouge (cépage pinot noir) est commericalisée. On cultive la vigne en Bourgogne depuis la période Gallo-Romaine mais c’est surtout la christianisation qui va favoriser l’extension du vignoble. Terre de riches abbayes, la Bourgogne a besoin de vin. Les textes du Moyen-Âge signalent la présence de vignes à Meursault dès le XIème siècle. C’est l’abbaye de Citeaux qui en est propriétaire. L’extension des possessions du duché de Bourgogne à la Flandres et aux Pays du Nord ouvre des débouchés au vignoble bourguignon qui prospère. Le rattachement du duché à la couronne de France à la mort de Charles le Téméraire accélère le développement du commerce du vin en direction du marché Parisien. Le vignoble bourguignon connaîtra une crise sévère pendant la première moitié du XXème siècle : l’épidémie de mildiou, le phylloxéra, la première puis la seconde guerre mondiale ruinent bon nombre de producteurs. La renaissance viendra après guerre et sera le fruit d’une habile politique qui privilégie la qualité au détriment de la quantité. L’AOC Meursault (appellation d’origine contrôlée) recouvre 395 ha de vignobles, dont 96 en premier cru. Le rendement est de 40 à 45 hectolitres par hectares. Source : Wikipedia
