Guam National Guardsman provides ground security in Afghanistan

Description: Staff Sgt. Henry Cruz Jr., a squad leader for the Guam Army National Guard Security Force Unit assigned to the Farah Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), provides ground security as other members of the PRT survey the progress made on the PRT-sponsored Yazdeh Canal project, Feb. 3, 2010, Farah Province, Afghanistan. The canal, which is located on the border of the Pusht Rod District, supplies 15 villages in the province with water and is being enhanced with a Gabion structure; the structure has a wire-rim base that is filled with rocks to prevent erosion and to avert flooding issues.
